Frequently Asked Questions
Must I have a patent, copyright, or other form of protection for my idea before submitting it?
It is preferable that you have some form of legal protection, such as a patent, patent application or
copyright covering your idea before submitting it.
If I do not have a patent, patent application, copyright or other form of legal protection for my idea, may I still submit it to Midmark Corporation?
Again, it is preferable that you first have some form of legal protection, such as patent, etc., because
Midmark Corporation cannot accept any idea for consideration on a confidential basis.
What are the reasons Midmark Corporation would not accept my idea for consideration?
There are numerous possible reasons. A few of them might be that we believe the idea is known, we are working
on the same or a similar idea, and we do not believe it would be cost effective to pursue it.
May I call Midmark Corporation to discuss my idea?
No. All communications must be made through Midmark Corporations's website "I have an idea!"
That way, both you and Midmark Corporation will have an exact understanding of what your idea is. Also,
you must agree to the Terms and Conditions listed on our website before we can consider your idea.
If I put my idea in a letter and mail it to Midmark Corporation, will it be considered?
No. For the same reasons we cannot consider oral disclosures, we cannot consider an idea sent to
Midmark Corporation in a letter.
If my idea is not accepted, will I be informed of the reasons?
Unfortunately, we cannot advise on the specific reasons we do not accept a submitted idea.
How should I present my idea through your website?
A description will vary depending on the idea being described, but it is usually
best to give a brief description of a problem or shortcomming or an existing product or service,
and then describe how your idea solves the problem.
